Writing about coming to the U.S. several years ago..

do you think there are it would be cliche?? do you think many others, who came to the U.S. several years ago, that would write about the language barrier they faced on their application essays? I'm just curious. Thanks!

ANyonee???

You can write about ANYTHING, but if you do write about how your family came to the States, you have to make it interesting.

I've seen tons of essays where the students don't take risks.... and then the essays flops (what a surprise, right?).

I think the language barrier thing could be very cliche, but if you give enough of your internal feelings and psychological frustration (I'm assuming there has been some), then it could end up being very good.

I agree. I think the language barrier thing would have been very cliche.
I did mention my language barrier in my essay, but it wasn't my main topic.
Thanks for your reply :)
