Writing about "tennis" on a common app essay?

<p>Hello!</p>

<p>So I didn't like any of the common app essay choices and decided to go with the "topic of my choice". I wrote about tennis and its impact on my life and what I learned from it. Do you think it would be okay? I'm applying for UChicago early decision. Also, are there anyone willing to read my essay? I would greatly appreciate it!</p>

<p>I think that writing about tennis could be a good topic, if you write it well, however writing about the impact of ECs is pretty common. Make sure you make it different somehow, try taking a specific event and telling a story, make sure the essay conveys to the reader who you are and not who you think the readers want you to be.</p>
