Hi everybody,
I don’t want to hire a consultant, so I have a lot of problems with my application. I decide to contact the school, but I am not sure whether I should write to the admission officer or not, because some of my questions are out of their field (don’t know whether those words are suitable or not). Anyway, how do you start an email? Hello, Dear,…? Do you just ask them questions or write more about you? Do I have a chance to get in if there are errors in the email?
I’m really confused now! The way you give it an end?
Sorry, I’m a bad writer. My mom is encouraging me to write more.
You know, that little device you probably used to type out your post, can make voice calls, too. Just call them.
Or you could try asking your questions here.
Search the CC threads… You’ll find a lot of threads with answers to questions you probably have… And there are a couple consultants on CC as well… so post any questions you have and we’ll try to help… I am not sure if you should waste an AOs time with general questions unrelated to the specific school… Like you should not go & ask lets say a Choate AO questions about gateway prep… You should contact them for questions abt the school… like…umm. how’s X school’s science program?..
Besides CC is like an online consultants

Start with Dear Mr./Ms. Person. Always write the first email as if it were a formal business letter. You can be a little less formal in follow-ups (Hi Ms. Person, blah blah). But previous posters are right; only bother the school and the admissions officers with questions only they can answer and for which the answers are not available on the school website.
