Writing an essay as "undeclared"

I’m planning on applying Undecided to USC this upcoming fall, and I’m thinking about transferring into either Economics or Marshall after I give it some thought doing my GE’s if accepted. I have a raw essay so far, but I’m having trouble writing an essay that revolves around a “passion for a particular major” if I’m putting my application for an “undeclared major.” Should I just write about finding a major that I can put my 100% into or can I mention that I would like to potentially be involved with business at USC if given an admission as undeclared?

Are you currently in college, and if so, what year? usually your essay is about why you are looking for in a transfer / why that college is the place you want to transfer to.

@collegemom3717 I’m currently a freshman at CSULB. I put the main for me transferring is to put myself in a position next year when I become a junior where I can pick whatever major I want to pursue with USC which is something that CSULB cannot offer. While I do mention an intention to pursue a major within their Marshall Program, I also mention that because “business” is such a broad subject, I want to decide on a specific aspect of business(possibly marketing?) before I fully commit myself to a major.

What, exactly, does USC have for you that CSULB doesn’t have a version of?

I am not asking to be mean or sharp: it is the question on which your essay turns. Are you looking for a prestige upgrade?
