Hi, my common app essay is on promp #4, where I talk about how I solved my issue of self-insecurity. I do think my approach to essay is unique, so I’m not worried about sounding boring. The problem is… will the topic about my lack of confidence be alright for the common app? Also, I’m bit worried that my essay won’t include much infos about my interest for art history. Don’t get me wrong, I did put my redeeming factors and ended positively, but I’m not sure if the topic itself is appropriate.

Your essay doesn’t have to be about your academic interests; if you feel that this is significant to your identity and you can write strongly on it, then it’s fine as a topic.
