Writing an Essay Unrelated to EC's?

<p>Is it bad to write an essay that is unrelated to your extracurriculars?</p>

<p>I wanted to pick a topic that was central to my personality to give the ad coms a better picture of myself.
The only ways the essay could tie into my EC's is that it has to do with music, and i used to be in band, and that it discusses how i like a diverse set of interests and my EC's are somewhat diverse.</p>

<p>Depends on what the prompt is. If you can work the prompt into your topic then it shouldn’t matter what you write about. Make sure you keep your essay focused so it doesn’t ramble.</p>
