Writing Answer Explanation (sentence grammar/usage error)

BB pg 166:

5.) Delgado's dilemma was like many other young writers: he had to choose between assured publication in a student magazine and probable rejection by a popular magazine. No error

Possible errors:
A- like many other
B- had to choose
C- and
D- probable rejection by
E- No error

Answer sheet says it is 'A', however I put E. I don't know how this would be A, unless somebody could explain? Thanks

The way the sentence is currently written compares Delgado’s dilemma directly to the writers themselves, rather than the other writers’ dilemmas.

Ohh I got it: This is because it does not state/describe the dilemmas, because there is no apostrophe showing ownership in “writers’” :D

Yep, comparison error.

If you were writing the sentence, it would be better to insert “that of” between “like” and “many” as opposed to using an apostrophe.
