<p>I like to consider myself a pretty good writer, but I've never been particularly close to any of my English teachers. Plus, I'd rather save the awkward moments for when I'm a senior and when I need college applications. I had no idea in which other forum to post this. =P Any help, HSL?</p>
<p>You know I was having the same dilemma when I was participating in the Scholastic Writing Competition. I was worried that I would have to get a rec from my english teachers (all of which I never was on good grounds). But I believe that in the Scholastic Writing competition you can get a rec from any teacher at your school not just an english one.</p>

<p>You don’t have to be close to them, and it doesn’t have to be awkward. My teacher didn’t even ask to see what I’d written. Grow a set and just get 'em to sign it.</p>
