Whenever I do practice writing questions, I often find myself stopping at question with answer choices containing the conjunctions (?) "thus" and "yet"

they often sound correct to my ear, but another answer is often the "correct" answer. This has led me to wonder if I really understand the usage of "thus" and "yet".

I'm sure I understand yet well, but NOT thus. I have gotten more than 1 question wrong because I decided to choose an answer with "thus" in it before...

can you guys please explain to me in detail how to correctly use them? Also provide some example sentences; that would also clear up my understanding.

best of luck to everyone else! and thanks.
