writing course requirement??HELP!!

Hi guys!
I am really really confused about this requirement, which many schools ask for. Does that mean courses like college writing which is only to teach writing skills or courses in diverse areas with a lot of writing?

Since I am at a four-year liberal art college and college writing (only writing skills) is not required but courses with "W" is required, which means writing intensive. And I cannot fulfill this requirement before transferring, if wiring courses means writing skills courses, since my school won't offer it next semester. I might have to take a winter course in another school, which would influence a lot my winter plan.

Besides, are first year seminar and writing course for nonnative speaker (which mainly teaches writing skills )counted as writing courses?

Any advice would be greatly appreciated!!!Thanks!!!

English Composition I & II are the usual gen eds needed. However, some schools also require those “Writing Intensive” courses, which are not the same as Comp I & II. If you’re transferring into a new school, prepare for the NEW school’s degree (not entrance) reqs while you’re still at your current school. Contact the new school and DISCUSS the W req with them.

But as far as I know, some schools do offer English Composition at all. How can they fulfill this requirement?
