I've looked at sample tests and the writing and vocab are something I've never seen in school. I'm taking AP English lang next year and I was wondering if that helps teach proper grammar and vocab for the SAT. Thanks.

Probably will help you on the vocab sections of the SAT. not so sure about grammar though. My class mostly focused on reading novels and writing commentaries.

Having taken AP English I can say with 100% confidence that the AP cirriculum will not help you on the SAT CR portion. However, it may increase your apptitude on the reading passage sections. But for the essay and grammar/sentence completion-the AP class is not designed to cater to this area. The best way to prepare for the CR section is to take timed sections and break the whole test up into managable parts.

If you need credentials, I took AP English and got 800 on the Writing.
