From Barron's 2400:
"Length matters less then quality; still, it is very unlikely that two [body] paragraphs will earn you a high score on the essay."

Would this be true? Because many of the Collegeboard samples seem to use two.

It's not true at all. What matters is how much your body para's support your thesis.

Length > Quality -- for the SAT essay at least. This is because, in general, the SAT essay scorers skim through your essay rather than analyze the nuances on your flashy metaphors. This means by eyeballing their essay (even if it is not the "correct" thing to say), they can judge what score you will get; this is because a longer essay usually equals more information and more examples. Again, these biases are solely based on the SAT scorer who is trained to agree with the other scorers. In theory, quality > quantity. In practice, quantity > quality.

Is it ok if I only have 2 long body paragraphs that filles up the 2 pages instead of having 3 body paragraphs then?

That's fine, as long as the two paragraphs give "insight", infact, that's one of the key ingredients that the essay graders look for in qualification for a 6. As long a you have SPECIFIC and DEEP examples that clearly tie into the thesis statement, you should be alright.

thanks :)

yep, 2 pages is a high score guarantee i heard lol,im gona do anyhting to make the pages full Xd

You're listening to a book that spelled than wrong?

length definitely matters, but there has to be SOME degree of quality and structure, especially if you're shooting for past an 8 or 9.
