writing exam

how do you know where to take it. can anyone give me more information on it?

its in may 9th
fee is 65$

my guess is that you have to go to ucr and they assign you to a class.

and you dont have to take it if you have done any of the following:

* 30 or better on the ACT Combined English/Writing test; or

 • 680 or better on the College Board SAT-II Writing Test; or
 • 680 or better on the College Board SAT Reasoning Test, Writing section; or
 • 3, 4 or 5 on either Advanced Placement (AP) Examination in English; or
 • 5 or above on an International Baccalaureate High Level English A exam
 • 6 or above on an International Baccalaureate Standard Level English A exam

do you know when they would send the ticket to take it?

From UCR website:

To take the Analytical Writing Placement Exam (AWPE) on Saturday, May 9, 2009, students must have a ticket that allows them access to a designated testing center; for information about obtaining your ticket, please call 800-839-8507. The ticket will be sent either from the UC President’s Office or from Pearson, the company in charge of administering the examination.

pity they make you call…

You were supposed to be a sent an email on where the exam is. That email is your Ticket to the testing center. I think if you did not get the email then you don’t need to take it…but call Riverside to be sure. The exam is in many different places near your house. I live near LA so mine is in LA. I don’t have my paper atm, but it’s not at Riverside…I don’t think. The only tests in Riverside would probably be Chem and Math. Call in to make sure though.

Also be sure to check the MyUCR website. Under “My Test Scores” it will tell you if you need to take the test. For example mine says: “You have satisfied the ELWR by receiving a passing score on your AP exam. Please contact your academic advisor for placement information.”
