Writing help on Sentence Errors???

<p>1) According to some scientists, (what) (any) particular volcano's lava look slike can change (with even) the (slightest change) in the tectonic pressure around the volcano. No error.</p>

<p>-I chose (with even) because i thought the idiom was wrong.
I thought the correct idiom was "BY EVEN". The answer is No error. Can someone explain the idiom problem and why the sentence has NO ERROR? </p>

<p>2) Just as Ludwig van Beethoven composed many lasting musical works and the Bronte Sisters wrote many enduring novels, (so too did Vincent van Gogh paint numberous timeless masterpieces.)</p>

<p>** I chose A. And i was right! But why cant D work? it sounds correct to me. Explanation for why D is NOT the correct answer.</p>

<p>Umm. There isn’t much to say except that “with even” is idiomatic.</p>

<p>Question two:</p>

<p>(D) is redundant. The structure of the introductory adverbial clause implies a logical parallel; “also like them” is redundant because “just as” means the same thing.</p>

<p>Also, for the second one, Just as … so … is one of those idiom pair things (like between … and , either … or… )</p>
