I know they don't have a creative writing major, but do they have a good writing program?

also...if I go into the arts and sciences college, but suddenly decide that I want to be a doctor....can I do that?

I don't know about writing... but if you enroll in arts and sciences, they expect you to change your career interests once you get there, so you can totally do pre-med at Tufts, although it won't be your official major. Additionally, you can aspire to medical school with a focus on creative writing (I'm guessing you'd be an English major), as long as you fulfill the pre-med requirements for when you apply to med school. You should major in whatever area interests you the most, because that's generally the area in which you'll earn the highest grades.

Some girl who was the lab TA for my bio class was an english major and is now headed off to the University of Chicago medical school (jealous!).

i'm in a Creative Fiction Writing course, and it is the most incredible writing course i've ever taken. The professor is incredible - the book we use was written by her, and she is full of amazing suggestions and ideas. Plus we read our stories to the class, and get their feedback and inspiration. My writing has never been this good or flowed so easily, I am SO glad I signed up for this course :-D
