<p>I am currently working on my "Why Duke?" essay, and, like many colleges, they ask you to respond in 1-2 paragraphs. Are these guidelines set in stone or is it ok to write more, say, like a page in total?</p>
<p>Colleges will accept any length, as long as its no tlike pages more than suggested. That said, if you have unnecessary or redundant words/sentences that could have been cut down they’ll judge it harsher. To be honest, though its painful you should cut down the words, it’s time consuming but it also helps you get your essay to be concise and well written</p>
