Writing my college essay on being overweight

For one of my colleges, I have to write about something that makes me different. Throughout my life I have always been plus size and on the heavier side, which had a huge impact on my life. I wanted to try and write it in a tasteful way. Do you think this would be acceptable for an essay?
Thanks in advance :)

You and the rest of America… It’s quite sad that this isn’t different at all.

I don’t think that your proposed topic will help your application regardless of how you present it.

Think of a difference that is of a nature that would broaden the college community, as for example something that you do that you would share with the college community. Perhaps you’re taking the word “difference” too literally. The “difference” may be an an academic interest in some culture, or some author, or some technology. It may a skill. And in reality it may very well be a difference that’s not so different.

^^^I agree with fogcity^^^

I know a young man who went from over 400 pounds to about 150 during the last 18 months of high school. His essay was about his journey to health and how losing the weight impacted his life. He was successful at getting into some colleges that were major reaches. It was about his take on overcoming adversity and several teachers and counselors speaking to his incredibly hard work in overcoming his major issue. So write about this if you’ve invested personally and have a happy outcome.

^lol… don’t let the tiger mom’s know. Next thing there’ll be a lot of poor teens eating themselves to death so they can lose weight and have a nice hook…

I think it’s a good topic, as long as you present it the right way.

^^^fogcity, etc… Are all taking the topic too seriously. I think its important to have a fun/ unique take, admissions people see so many essays saying pretty much the same thing. They need a little spice in their lives!
