Hello,
I received a score of 1900 on the SAT my reading and math were 660-670 but my writing was 570. For most UCs the writing placed me in the bottom 25%, but for math and reading i am on track. MY GPA is around 3.95 so does my poor writing score on the SAT hinder my ability to attend a school like UCDavis or UCSB? Should i retake the SAT because the writing score was below whats average? and if i were to pass my AP English exam would that be looked at with more merit than my SAT writing score?

1900 is a competitive score at all but UCB and UCLA As you can see, the avg for Davis is 1910.

The UCs weigh the ‘whole’ student. No one can say a 5 on the English AP offsets your English SAT by 56 points … that’s not how it’s done.
Do your best this semester and, sure - re-take the SAT.

Be sure to apply broadly though. With UCs, you never know…
