Katarina could not be certain whether the voice she heard on the recording was her uncle or someone else who speaks with a heavy German accent.

(A) uncle or someone else/color [color=green]uncle or that of someone else/color [color=green]uncle's or someone else/color [color=green]uncle's or that of someone else/color [color=green]uncle's or someone else's

what is the answer? I know the answer. But I'm looking for explanation.

I believe the answer is “D) uncle’s or that of someone else”. It is not correct for “someone else’s” to come before “who speaks”. I don’t know the grammatical lingo, but “someone else’s who speaks with” doesn’t make sense because someone else’s refers to the voice & the voice can’t be a who. I’m guessing that’s correct. Hopefully, someone more knowledgeable will correct my statement if it’s incorrect.

c i think
are you sure its “who speak”

sorry there was a typo. it will be speaks

yeah. the answer is D. I’m looking for the grammatical terms. it was a level 4 question.
