I was wondering if anyone had any advice on what type of essay to submit for Amherst’s Option B for the common app. Specifically, the prompt says, “Please submit a graded paper from your junior or senior year that best represents your writing skills and analytical abilities. We are particularly interested in your ability to construct a tightly reasoned, persuasive argument that calls upon literary, sociological or historical evidence. You should NOT submit a laboratory report, journal entry, creative writing sample or in-class essay.”
I’ve obviously written numerous essays in the past two years, and am having a hard time deciphering what exact type of essay they want/which would be the best one for me to submit.
Thanks in advance!
