Last summer, when Mary's aunt and uncle flew from Turkey to visit their relatives and tour the United States, Mary invited Sandhya and I( they said that was incorrect) to her house to meet them.

How is it not I? It is supposed to be in subjective case because there is no preposistion.

Whenever it is those type of questions between me and I, do this

Mary invited I to her house to meet them?
or does
Mary invited me to her house
sound correct? :o

Mary invited Sandhya and me.
Mary invited me (Mary invited I? Doesn’t make sense)
And you use the objective pronoun me because ‘me’ is being invited, not doing the inviting.

Ok that makes a lot of sense! So it doesn’t need to be preposistional to be me? So I can ignore the and, and just think “Sandhya invited I” and see that it is incorrect? Thanks for the great strategy! Also I don’t get past participles and present participles? What’s the difference and when should it be used? And whats the difference between like and as?
