<p>Why is the bolded part of the sentence below wrong? I put no error.</p>

<p>"It was a Chinese American grower who finally succeeded with adapting the now familiar orange tree to the American climate." </p>

<p>I think it should be ‘in adapting’. You succeed IN something (an endeavour), not WITH. Correct me if I’m wrong. :)</p>
