<p>Could sombody please explain to me why C is the answer?</p>

<p>He was "somewhat"(A) uncertain about "how to use"(B) the new machine and "asked for"(C) "more specific"(D) instructions to be sent.</p>

<p>BTW this is from the 2004 PSAT.
All help appreciated</p>

<p>Maybe: "asked that"?</p>

Idiom error:
"asked for" should be changed to "asked that"</p>
