Writing Question

Delgado's dilemma was (like many other) young writers: he (had to choose) between assured publication in a student magazine (and) (probable rejection by) a popular magazine. (No error)

I thought the answer would be E because I don't see an error. However, the answer's A. I don't see anything wrong with that phrase..although I'm probably missing something really dumb. Lol please help :$

A dilemma is being compared with writers. It should be, “Delgado’s dilemma was like those of many other young writers” or “Delgado’s dilemma was like the dilemmas of many other young writers.”

Thanks silverturtle. You’re always extremely helpful :)
