The first question is:

Flints found in/U the region extending from the Nile Valley to/U the highlands of Eastern Iraq attests to/Uthe presence of people there as long ago as/U one hundred thousand years.(E)
(p166 blue book) The right answer was C but I dont know how to correct the sentence and where the subject and main verb are.

The second one is:

Maude Adams, after her spectacular triumph as/U the original Peter Pan, went about/U heavy veiled/U and was accessible to only a handful/U of intimate friend.(E)
(p192 blue book) The key is E but I am confused about C. Why isnt it "heavily veiled" instead of "heavy veiled"? And is "went about heavy veiled" like in idiom or smth?

Please help me out with this. I REALLY need to raise my writing score:-s
Thanks in advance.
