Writing questions

<p>I think the answer key to test 10 from the blue book may be wrong. In section 3 (writing):</p>

<p>2) The problem of water [pollution, frequently compounded in certain areas because] the treatment and release of industrial wastes are not adequately regulated.</p>

<p>According to the answer key, choice A is correct (no error), but I think this a sentence fragment. I put choice D.</p>

D) pollution is frequently compounded in certain areas where
E) pollution is frequently compounded in certain areas and</p>

<p>3) [Having been a victim of malicious rumors], Helen purposely avoided gossip.</p>

<p>A) Having been a victim of malicious rumors, (my choice)
B) Her being a victim of malicious rumors,
C) Her having been victimized by malicious rumors,
D) Because being a victim of malicious rumors, (correct choice according to the official answer key)
E) Because having been a victim of malicious rumors,</p>

<p>4) In many states, [they have laws to allow students to vote wherever they choose], either at their homes or at their college residences.</p>

<p>A) they have laws to allow students to vote wherever
B) they have laws allowing students to vote where
C) their laws allowing students to vote wherever
D) the laws allow students to vote wherever (my choice)
E) the laws allow students to vote in the place where (correct choice according to the official answer key)</p>

<p>Is the anwer key wrong? </p>
