Hey there… I can tell you have a problem with idiomatic use of language, hence I encourage you to study all idioms from the Silverturtle’s guide.

 1. Condemn as, not condemn to be.
 2. From Venturing.
 3. I guess the error is in C, because the use of (AS) in D indicates that C should be are as visible as
 4. If E is the correct answer let me know so I can provide explanation. :)

i want explanation for no. 2
the answer for no.5 is e.

for #2:

A and B are awkward
D and E have altered the meaning of the sentence (there is a double negative; to deter someone not to venture would be the same as encouraging them to venture)

3 is e isn’t it?

In number 2, The word deter is and should always be followed by the preposition from.
SIGNS COULD BE POSTED TO STOP/DETER HIKERS from venturing INTO TICK INFESTED AREAS. Deter means to stop or to make someone less likely to do something. Deter + From + doing something.

In number 4, I believe it is E because Imminent means “will happen in the future”… so the use of imminent and could happen in the future is redundant, thus wordy.
In the SAT the more precise you are the better.
Consider this sentence for emphasis:
I will watch a movie at 12 am midnight. “AM and Midnight really have the same meaning so only one of which should be used”
Hope that illuminates.
