writing sample

because I can’t bring my sat II writing score up I’m going to send out writing samples to all my colleges so they can see I CAN write well.

I can’t decide on which graded paper I’m sending them. I’m really keen on sending this essay I wrote for AP class. it wasn’t written ap style (that wasn’t the week’s assignment) so it’s 7 pages long and not in an academic voice. which isn’t to say I wrote lik3 7h1s lolz! but it’s very sarcastic, grammarwise perfect and the mla conventions nearly so. it’s also a very interesting read, and my favorite essay so far this year.

or should I send them a standard AP essay? they are usually bland because they are written in such a short time, so they’re not as creative or interesting but a bit more academically voiced.

your verdict?

I’m banking on my creativity to get me in. I am not applying to any Ivy’s.

Send the creative piece. There's no point in showcasing your writing if it's dull.

alright, thanks.

any other opinions?

bump kick push upstairs

A seven page essay is a bit long, but if it is well-written and interesting that has its merits. You might PM a bit of it to some parent (hint) and she could provide an opinion as to whether its intriguing or too risky to chance.
