In the Blue book i got 1 800 and alot of 750+s on the writing, so i was sure i would get that. But then i got a frikin 710 AHHH

me too! 12 essay. 65 mc (*** my lowest was 73 on practice tests...)

same thing happened to me exactly. I got an 800 the week before the test and then got a 710 in March. It turns out it was because I made five (mostly careless) errors. Don't worry about it though, the new SAT writing will not have that great of an effect on admissions chances for most schools. Most schools have a wait-and-see approach and may not even use writing scores in admissions decisions.

same thing happened to me. I have never gotten more than 3 wrong on a practice in the blue book (I had taken every single test, and I got 2 wrong on 6/8).

And yet, I got a 710 on the real thing (70 MC/10 essay).

sorry, but whats the blue book? o.O

the CB book

oh, haha. i have that -_-

on cb's practice I got 750 (with 4 in essay) but for the real one I only got 580... sigh

This happened to me also... on the last practice test I took, I missed one multiple choice question out of 39.

I also got an 8 on my essay..hmm.. at least it's an even number. Maybe my essay really did suck. I dunno.

i usually score 8-9s on the essay and on the real thing the same happened

however, the multiple choice was considerably lower on the real test

=/

The collegeboard's practice curve is off by a significant margin. The real writing curves are much worse.

Wow! Seriously, guys. Thanks for the HUGE warning.
