Is it right that MIT does not consider your SAT writing score at all? I mean, they receive the score anyway. Can't tell me they won't have a look at it...?!

ofcourse they'll have a look....but as long as it's not in the 300's, I think you can have their word that they won't take it into consideration...that's what i think..

I think even if it's 300 it won't matter... otherwise what's the point of saying that it won't be considered.

Well, no matter what you get on the writing, it won't keep you out. But an extremely low score surely gives a bad impression, doesn't it?

Although most of us would probably make terrible admissions officers (me particularly... I would probably let everybody in), the admissions committee is good enough at admissions that they've made a career of it. To me, this says that they're able to see things that don't count without letting them count, period.

So even if they get the score, even if they peek at it, it won't affect your admission one way or the other.

Fine.
Thanks everybody :)

if that's true, great! cuz my writing is so bad i don't even want them to see it...

Why don't they consider it?
I mean, before the march 2005 didn't they consider the SAT II writing?
And it's basically the same subject test tacked on to the SAT I...

well maybe not considered because it does not have the percentiles to it.
