I heard Northwestern admission doesn't count the writing section of the SAT?
So the score would be out of 1600 (math + CR)...
Does that apply to other colleges too? Or is it just NU ?

Not sure about Northwestern since as far as I am unaware it has not declared that it does not use the writing section. Of the high ranked colleges, Georgetown and UChicago expressly state they do not use the writing section for determining admission. Many public universities do not use the writing section as well as many lower ranked private universities

Aw, writing is my strongest!! =((
Thank you!

As of two years ago, no college that I heard of was using the SAT writing section in admissions. They said they wanted time to evaluate it, to see how the scores correlated to performance by their students. So, I am not surprised that Georgetown and Chicago state they don’t use it yet.

The 23 California State Universities (CSUs) have an official policy of only using the CR and M for admission and do not even look at the W score. The nine University of California (UC) campuses look at it and consider it a part of your application but it is uncertain how much weight it carries in relation to CR and M in the actual admission decision.
