I was just wondering what is a reasonable scaled score for the writing section the SAT reasoning test if there are 6 wrong MC questions and the essay was a 8?

You're probably looking at a 650-680

how did you arrive at that?

with a 12 essay, how many mc can u get wrong?

2 or 3 i believe

to get an 800??

to post #2, no bro, it's never gona be 680. i'd say around 640-650

how do you guys arrive at such numbers? The books I've seen all suggest a higher score

My son, on the October SAT, missed 7 MC and made an 8 on the essay, and he scored a 630. So I suspect the 640-650 estimate is accurate.

last tiem i missed 7 got a 9 on my essay and i got 670
so i'm guessing around 650 -670?
but i heard for the november test, it was a lot easier so... curve might be harsher?

@hehe......: Yeah, totally agree with you. In the books that I've looked up, they also suggest a much higher score than Xcellerator reports. (most above 700, round 710). Ah yes, maybe as this test' writing is easy, the curve will become harsh :(

what books are u guys looking at ?lol i based my estimates on QAS tests.... which are fairly consistent throughout the yrs...

McGraw Hill, for example!

How bout a 9 Essay and 4 wrong on MC?

i got that for oct ^ 690 lol,

Wow that would be really @#$@#$# cuz I took it *for * the writing, and I got 690 last time (9 essay, -5 MC).. sorry but how bout a 9 essay and -2MC?
