^^I wouldn’t use a personal example at all. In the hierarchy of SAT examples it goes Literary>Historical>Personal observation>Personal experience.

For time management, I usually allot. . . 3 minutes for thinking, 6 minutes for intro (most important paragraph), 12 minutes for 2-3 body paragraphs, and the rest for conclusion. I usually only have 2-3 lines left for my conclusion, but the conclusion barely matters at all.

For vocab, if you’ve studied a lot for CR you shouldn’t have to “force it.”

If you have RR do everything it says. Everything. Two 12s don’t lie.

hahaha. my essay was so bs haha. i was concerned until i saw my 11 that i would get like a 4 for having written a really crappy essay haha. i didnt have any examples or anything. but i sure as heck filled it crazy vocab words and some analysis of whatever the question was.

now im just annoyed that i was so close to a 800 (i got 780 via a 76/11), but at least my sat experience was satisfactory.

Hmm… is it possibe to get the same MC and Essay Score and get a different scaled-score?
I’m afraid that that has happened to me in a negative way upon looking at this thread :S

Huh, according to all these formulas for SAT essay success, I would have received an 8. Actually I was expecting an 8, because I totally didn’t prep for the essay the second time around, and I basically wrote an AP English essay (applied prompt to a novel, used instances from said novel to support thesis. Basically really amounts to one example, though.). Managed to net a 10, thank god.

Edit: Oh and I only filled up 1.5 pages. And failed at including flashy vocab words. Besides the ones I usually use, which aren’t that flashy.

And for my essay, I just BS’d through 3 personal experience examples, hardly used any luxurious vocabulary, but I filled up both pages. Easy 10. I know they might prefer examples from literature or history or whatever, but I have zero knowledge on that stuff, so I’ll take my 10.

How did I get 68 MC it’s not on the list, lol.

But 68 MC and an 11 Essay was a 720. So I was happy the essay counted for at least that much. According to some of these other scores my extra essay point got me 10-20 points.

I think a bad essay score can drag a good mc score down, but a good essay score only bring a bad mc score up a little. So mc q’s worth a lot more.
