Writing Section. Worth working on over cr?

I think I have capped my math at (getting 750-800) on bb tests, and for may, I want to boost my cr, which is now at 700, and my writing, which is like... 680-720, with an essay of 8-9. Here is my question, in the month I have left, should I work on cr - memorize vocab, take more sections, etc, or work on getting my essay to a 10 ish, and crack through grammar sat books? I'm thinking to just focus on Cr, but... I can't decide if it is okay to
leave my writing down there at 690. I have heard different thoughts about if colleges care about writing section, could some one give me some advice? Max out cr, max out writing, or divide my time equally?

Work on them equally, your overall score is what matters to most colleges. Try and refresh math concepts every once in a while as well, so that doesn't drop

i have this weird feeling that colleges care more about cr and math, so i would concentrate 2/3's of my time on cr, and the other 1/3 on writing. but thats just me

I agree with hpa, since the writing section is still somewhat new a lot of college don't consider it as much. Plus you will be writing an essay for them anyway, so they can gauge your writing from that.

yeah... Im thinking I will first ensure I get both safely in the 700+ range, then devote my time to cr, bc I get the feeling the /1600 is used by a lot of colleges. Thanks for the advice,

Nick, CR and M are what most colleges are giving most weight to. The W component is still being evaluated at most selective schools. The UCs, I think, give equal weight to all three (perhaps some Californians can chime in to clarify).

Im happy that a lot of schools consider the TOTAL score because my math verbal score is kind of weak but like i can almost crack an 800 in writing (1 or 2 questions wrong).
