i think that's experimental, i didn't have that passage.

i had books into movies and math as experimental so girl and her journal was experimental

Ok so is it true that pop culture references hurt your essay?!
I wrote about Rosa Parks, V for Vendetta, and a personal experience.
1 paragraph was devoted to V for Vendetta, so it shouldn't hurt too much, right??

beaston, don't worry too much about the pop culture thing. Even if they don't like your topic so much, as long as your prose is good, you should do fine

Phew, thanks! =)

ok so can someone confirm for me which one was experimental?

section 3 grammar or section 6 grammar?

were there 4 or 3 no errors on the find portion...i had five no error but at least one is wrong. i didnt know so i just guessed...at least my essay was good. Here are the ones I had:

mediator intervene in

accountant/potter

bird beak size

one around number 16ish

one around number 20

-i think that there has to be at least one easy no error and the first 3 were around number 25-29, supposedly the harder section...iono

and what did ppl get for the "purist" in correcting paragraphs...it was like purist are people who criticize something. was it like

a. purists; ____________
or
e. purists, those

and on section 10 number 1

was it would know or will know

it was e. purists, those
and i think it was would know but im not sure

was the "how" in the euclid question incorrect

what was the error in the bird's sentence?

how hard do the graders grade the essay?
if i didnt really use big vocab words, will that hurt me?

My SAT Essays were dreadful my first time and this time. And I got a 9 the first time without ANY examples. This time I used examples and less to be verbs but I didn't tie in anything well, so I'm expecting a 9-10. Who knows. But I think SAT Essay Graders are pretty lax.

i thought the purists one was a, pretty sure.

would know

I think as long as you have an intro, conclusion, 2 or 3 solid examples, and sound smart .. the essay should be ok

I had, I felt, a really strong intro/thesis that I frequestnly referred back to and a poignant conclusion, but I had only 2 body paragraphs. I talked about voting rights grants to all citizans of age (making references to the Constitution) and the ability for just about anyone to try to hold local offices (no specifics in particular) as support. I definately answered the question at hand. I re-read it twice and I'm sure there are no grammatical mistakes. I also threw in a few "big words" here and there. My handwriting, despite a cramp in my hand, mangaged to stay neat and completely legible.

Basically, I had a "perfect essay" (in my eyes), just with horrible defenses (which makes it no longer perfect). Given these, do you think it's possible for me to get a 12?

the potter question is A. I bet money on it.
"An Amateur Potter herself" herself is not necessary

which one was experimental? i'm thinking the second one section 6. ithad like birds beak, accountant, etc. and a paragraph about food and art.
we can find out if someone who only got 2 writing sections says what they got. that means the one they didnt get is experimental.

btw, what was that question about between 1895 until 1921, i chose "until" as error because you say "between...and" not until, and then it was like horses were used until the advent of the telegraph.

usually wordiness is not an error on the SAT. Especially when herself is not an error.

wendy, i chose until too for the 1895 one

im hoping section 3 grammar was experimental....i think i bombed that

did anyone only get 2 writing sections? so we can find out what was experimental...

14 def wasnt. it was either sec 3, or 6.
