~~Writing Section~~

For the amateur potter accountant question, I think I chose D. "herself" may have been superfluous, but D had super awkward wording. I wasn't sure if it was grammatically correct.

Claudzie- I had the same passages as you did. I did not realize at the time that one was experimental. Which one was?

i bet its section 6...it had questions on birds beak, accountant, tomatoes orginite in america having been (E?), garlic research, and boy applied TO a job which should have been applied for...

i really hope its section 6. it was ridiculously hard.

what was that question about between 1895 until 1921, i chose "until" as error because you say "between...and" not until, and then it was like horses were used until the advent of the telegraph.

I don't remember having this question - I think that section was experimental.

thank god thats experimental. that one had the birds beaks, tomatoes, accountant, etc.
ok now i think i only got CR wrongs.
where do you find the curve last years Jan?i got liek 3 cr wrong.

wendy, the one w/ the bird beaks ISN'T the experimental section. I got that section and my experimental section was the math one.

did you get one with tomatoes originating in americas?

I don't think I had a tomato sentence.

weird... I got the bird breaks and the accountant, but I don't think I got the tomato one. Could be wrong though, but I'm certain of the beak/accountant Q.

I dont' get it, u guys really do have a good memory!! After I came out of the test center, I forgot 90% of the stuffs.

can anyone type the complete sentence as best as they can for the no error ones?

I think I remember one:

A potter herself, the accountant agreed to help the artist with his business accounts, complicated as they were by his strange sorting practices.

I'm not sure about the very last part, but it is in essence the same.

For those of you who had the Shakespeare and Austen movie controversy writing passage:

The question that talked about purists:

was it "purists, those who"

or "purists; they were ----"

because I at first chose choice number 1 but thought that the sentence sounded awkward without some sort of conjunction (i.e. "or" would have been perfect) so I picked choice number two.

I think I may be wrong though.

did anyone have correcting the passage:
When people think of food, it's either painted or .... It makes sense people will think of food visually....(P1)
Flavors are mysterious, Albert Einstein said... (P2)
There are many cooks who use molecular gastronomy like art..Many people like new things...For example, a cook... (P3)

Question 1. how can you correct sentence: It makes sense people will think
--> i chose change "will think" to "would think of food" visually
2. how can you improve paragraph 2?
--> i said explain how mysterious flavors of food contribute to its artistic qualities.
5. which sentence is best ommitted from paragraph 3?
--> i said sentence 11.."many ppl like to try new things"

anyone remember?

Sorry, I'm guessing that must have been the experimental section for you.

I agree.

I had prompt about community OR a nation. I thought I did well on essay. Expecting 11 if grader is nice but at least 9.

oh ok. then forget that...

hmm what do you think the curve this year is?
i hope -3 on cr = 800

Is it possible that there may be two different versions of the same prompt?

Some people say it is community vs. nation whereas I had a prompt that clearly asked for the difference between governmental and private initiative.

I'm actually quite anxious right now...

P.S. Wendy, I highly doubt -3 would be an 800. Maybe a 790.

whoa...i didn't know everyone got different essays...!

do you guys remember the question that had englsih institutions should not teach stuff that would rebel against the monarchy? is it should/would?
