I got combined 2160 on the May SAT ( CR- 800, M- 720, W- 640)
My score on the 1600 scale was a 1520, which I thought was fairly good, but the writing section kind of scares me on the 2400 scale. Is the writing section something to worry about, or will it not hurt too much?
I was under the impression that the writing section garnered less weight than the other sections, so i goofed off on it, especially the essay ( 1/2 pg, score of 6). However, I have heard otherwise from some friends so I'm really freaking out!!!!

Writing a 1/2 page essay was probably not the smartest idea. Some colleges won't even look at the 640, and others will factor it into consideration just as much as the other two scores. It depends on the college. In general though, colleges would put slightly less weight on this section than the other two.

by saying that some colleges wont even look at the 640 do you mean that they wont even consider a score that low, or that they dont look at the writing section at all?

no consideration = don't look at it
