There are two parts on the common app requiring essays: "writing supplement," and "personal essay." Do I have to complete both of these essays or only the portion called writing supplement? Any input would be appreciated.

Also, do I need to complete the registers report, mid term report, and final report?

I am a community college transfer applicant btw.

Thank you.

If you are asking this question now for an app that is due tomorrow you are in big trouble.

If an application asks for an essay, you complete it. In this case, Common App wants a main personal essay, 650 words or less.

Then, most Common App schools also have an additional writing supplement. You also complete this portion.

Midterm report is after semester grades are in.

Final report is at end of year.

Follow all directions. Have transcripts been sent? Official test scores, if needed? Recommendations? When is your deadline?

The common app is not due tomorrow, they are due on February 1st. Regarding the midterm and final report, I wasn’t asking what they meant but rather whether they were required for transfer applicants. You said follow all directions but there are no directions to follow on their website concerning the topics I inquired about. I would have asked admissions but they were closed for the latter part of December due to the holidays. I’ll prob end up contacting admissions on the 2nd.

Here is a nice tutorial from Chapman University about completing transfer application for Common App.

It seems that Common App lacks good directions for transfer students this year - unfortunately. Maybe this will help explain details better.
