Writing Supplement

Hello,
One of the school I am applying to is Indiana University and while they accept the Common App, the school requires that you submit a Writing Supplement. The prompt is “Describe your academic and career plans and any special interest (for example, undergraduate research, academic interests, leadership opportunities, etc.) that you are eager to pursue as an undergraduate at Indiana University. Also, if you encountered any unusual circumstances, challenges, or obstacles in pursuit of your education, share those experiences and how you overcame them. (200-400 words)”. I’m not exactly sure what to write. Is this something that you want to just state what your interests are and be done with it, or do you want to get creative like the personal essay? Also how much does a school like Indiana weight a writing supplement?

Additional Info:
ACT - 34
Weighted GPA - 3.93
Unweighted - 3.61

I cannot answer the second part as I am not familiar with Indiana, but I would say you don’t have to be AS creative as the personal statement, you shouldn’t write it in just a list form and be done- you should explain the how & why behind your interests.
