hey, does anyone have any thoughts on this: can a very high writing score somewhat "make up" for a low CR score..... i have only a 660 on CR but a 760 for writing...

good question! same for me! 670 cr, 770w.

660..670 are in no way low CR scores even buy CC standards! So don't worry.

CC standard says that 700+s are good scores.

some elite CCers say 750+s are good

Yeah but the question is whether they are LOW.

but for the colleges that im applying to, 660 is a relatively low score, esp for a white girl from CT. thats just the way it is i guess. so what do you think, could a 760 writing somehow "balance it out"?

Orca25 exact same for me. The 25th percentile is 670-700 depending on the school. I am in the middle for math and towards the top for writing (according to Duke).

yeah like for my #1 school im like... a little over middle for math, about 40 pts below middle for verbal and above for WR.

In that case, your Writing score will not make-up as such for a Low CR score and that is why if you think you can improve your CR score by about 30-40 points then give another test.
