anyone here taking/have taken 'After Walt Whitman" and have comments?

Just a heads up to every freshman on here asking about different Writing 20s - the only subject that remainds constant every semester is "Writing the Academy Inside Out." Every other topic changes. If you want to know about a course, it would be much more helpful for you to ask about the professor, as those usually remain somewhat constant.

alright, i think the professor's last name is Walsh. It's a woman professor. I don't know her first name off hand.

DO IT!! Take the course!!

If Rebecca Walsh is teaching the course, you'll love it.

Anyway-- she's young, but brilliant and incredibly nice. I've heard some people think that she's a tough grader (on course evals sites), but I personally didn't think so -- I think she's very fair. She LOVES to meet with her students and she loves to read over your work... and offers great suggestions. We read some Whitman in her class, and I was never that familiar with it, but since she's so knowledgable of the subject, it ended up being very interesting. She invited us over to her house to watch a film for class... it was great. She's honestly one of the best professors I've had at Duke... I don't think anyone in the class disliked her or disliked the class.

i think that solidifies my decision. thank you. i hope there's room when i register.
