How do you get better at writing and English, currently I'm not really "struggling" in class as long as I put in the effort, but in 10th and 11th grade English gets much harder with not extra credit. Any questions/ comments would be appreciated.

This depends. What do you struggle most with?

As for some generic tips, I find that my writing is most successful when you have an organized plan/outline when you write. Not necessarily that you have to write an outline, but just have one in your head. The worst thing to do is to ramble, or talk in circles. For example, in my English Class, we had to write an essay about the Great Gatsby, and the prompt I chose was “What qualities made Gatsby great?” I talked about three specific things in my body paragraphs (it was a 5 paragraph essay) and talked about his moral standard, his capacity for hope, and his willingness to work hard.

I know that what have said is a bit vague, It’s just my trick to writing is by using clear, concise statements that lead to a point. The worst thing you can do is be disorganized, and stray away from the original intent of whatever you’re writing about. Sometimes for me, I figure out my supporting statements (for body paragraphs in essays) as I write along and try to build around that.

But yeah, I hope that helped, this is coming from my writing experience

Ask the teacher for advice on stuff you can work on
