Written Essays

Hello everyone.

I'm applying for a transfer for the 2015 spring semester. I just received the email stating they have my application. On the online application process, they asked for a small personal statement, which I provided. They state on their admissions web page that we should prepare two written statements based on their provided prompts. They haven't yet asked for me to submit them yet. My question is:

Does anyone know when/how I should be submitting my written statements?

In the student center, I have no holds. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

Can anyone who has submitted a UW Madison application inform me as to how they submitted their written essays?

The essays are a section of the application, not seperate.
Also, I’m pretty sure it’s way too early to submit a transfer app for the spring.

When I was filling out the application online, they only had a section at the end for writing a brief statement about myself. They did not mention anything about the two written essays they say I should prepare, with the topics of “what goes unnoticed” and “why UW-Madison”. http://www.admissions.wisc.edu/transfer/apply.php</a> (see number 4).

My student center says “We have received your application and are reviewing your file to ensure we have all materials necessary to make a decision.” Do they ask for the two essays later? Or were they expecting me to copy/paste my two 500-word essays into the space at the end?

Also I did not see anything on their website stating that I couldn’t submit prior to a certain date. Do you have any reason as to why you are sure I’ve submitted too early?

Thanks for your help @waitwut

You may submit an application as early as September, but take note of our deadlines and notification periods.

Thanks everyone. I have sent the admissions office an email yesterday. Now I’m just waiting for a reply. Hopefully sending the app early won’t matter.

Apparently the reason I couldn’t find how to submit my written essays is because people whom are 25+ years of age have a different application process, which means I spent who knows how many hours writing essays I can’t even use. Who knew?
