Written v. On-line Application

I am thinking of mailing in my common application. The website mentioned that I could handwrite and then mail it, but can I still do it on the computer (for the purpose of neatness) and mail it in or do I have to stick to the old-fashioned hand-writing method?

Thanks!!!!!!!!

You can type it and then mail it in, but bear in mind that most colleges prefer electronic applications.

You need specific software to turn a PDF into a document you can type on, I believe (although some forms can be fill-in forms; I don’t know if Common App does that).

Why do you want to mail your application? You may face higher application fees, and it is much more likely for things to get lost.

Do it online. Colleges prefer it that way and you don’t have to worry about Newman the mailman “misplacing” your NYU app.

Considering the extra fees that some schools (like Stanford?)
charge for mailed in apps and the number of constraints to dissuade
mailing, I wonder what your point is in mailing?

The common app online is designed to be done over extended periods
of time (multiple sessions). You could do it even from your local
public library. Unless you are international and have some serious
bandwidth constraints, mailing is a decision that is going to cost you
dearly.
