So I got my grade for this one class about 2 weeks ago, and it's not that it's "Bad" but it's way way lower than I was anticipating. We just had a final paper to do that was worth around 40% of our grade. In order for me to have gotten the final grade that I got in the class, I would have had to have gotten a D- on the paper. I don't think I handed in an A+ paper by any means, but I definitely don't think it was a D- either! (I hope not at least!)
I emailed my professor the instant I got the grade and she said she would double check to see if anything was entered incorrectly etc. It's been basically 2 weeks and she hasn't sent anything else even though I sent her one quick follow-up one week ago.
What should I do? I'm kind of freaking out :(. I can live with the grade but I feel that it is not the grade that I actually earned.
Thanks!

Be persistent. My friend was given the wrong grade for Chem 4A (in the fall) and it took almost the entire spring semester to get the grade changed. But it happened in the end.

Ahh good!! Thanks for the response. I mean, I guess it’s possible I completely bombed that paper, but I really worked hard on it :-. I dunno. We’ll see! And it’s weird because I’m totally on “off” mode, don’t even wanna think about school, but I have to at this rate lol.

Yeah it’s kind of an annoying process for professors to change grades, so they tend to procrastinate on it.

It’s okay. Don’t worry. Hopefully, it’s a mistake and if not, they’re human. Talk to them. Maybe they can work something out with you. And hopefully, you can show them that you worked hard in the class by having notes and everything!

Berkeley has to keep your work for a class for at least two years. So it is not late even if you start complaining exactly one year later. Relax.

haha ok. I didn’t realize that. I still want my grade to be, ok, let’s say “verified” soon! I wanna have a fun summer without worrying :P

bump n e more thoughts? I’m starting to get antsy :-

Do another follow up email. It’s a hassle for everyone involved to change grades apparently. My friend had the same problem about two years ago (got a F when her grade was a B average on all her exams including the final). Don’t remember how long it took, but all I know was that she complained about it nearly every time I talked to her lol

GAH. I have to wait until fall I was just told in a response email. this majorly sucks :(

Hmm that’s strange…

I was given a wrong grade this semester as well (A- instead of an A) when I saw it on bearfacts.

The GSI entered one of my scores wrong, but once I pointed it out to him, he emailed the professor.

My grade was changed on bearfacts within a week so idk, I guess it depends on the professor?
