Wrong Score?? College Board Mistake?

I took the AP Government and Politics Exam this spring (May 2018) and felt I did extremely well on the test. I answered every multiple choice question with confidence and completely understood what I was talking about and explaining in the FRQ questions. I passed the course with an A+ grade and passed every test. I got a score of 5 and 115% on an official practice exam I participated in before the test. I checked my grade this morning and found that I got a 2?? This is unheard of, and I was very upset. I looked on College Board for resources to get this checked and changed, and found that to get it re scored, I would have to pay $30 to send it in, not including mailing fees. Obviously I’ll do it to ensure that I get the grade I deserve, but it is frustrating that I have to pay to resolve a grading issue that was a mistake on their end, and it is frustrating that I cannot get any information about what type of issue this is, whether my FRQ and multiple choice scores weren’t combine to get the composite score, or if I used the wrong pencil, or what, but I am not happy with the process of getting information and help with an AP score. Please respond with advice or tips, or even if you have experience with this in the past, and what you did and if getting it re-scored helped at all.

Not really; you can look on this forum for the many many posts this week (and every year the first week of July) from students unhappy with their scores.

You can ask for your FRQ booklet back for $10. However, your FRQ will have no notes from the readers and will not be regraded.

The only time I have heard of a successful rescore (and this is extremely rare) is when the CB lost the FRQ and, as a result, based the score upon the MC. Your score is not the result of using a wrong pencil or using pen instead of pencil.

Have it been confirmed that it is a mistake on their end? It may as well be, you do not know for sure at this point, right?

True, I do think it was a mistake on that end because i definitely knew the concepts, questions, and topics very well and everyone I have talked to has gotten 5’s.
