Wrong size shoe help

On R-Day will soon to be New Cadets be able to try on lowquarters and boots even if they've brought their own pairs of footwear? Because I have a feeling my low quarters are a little too big, but the lady said that if I try and return them they won't get back to my house until late June. So will I be able to try on a different pair just to make sure?

You will get issued additional low quarters and boots on R-day/during Beast (the big duffle bags--not the blue bags, so sad--but big bags none-the-less) stuff with more things than you will know what do with. The reason you go with your own low quarters and boots initially is to hopefully help you by allowing you to have some already broken in.

USMA brings in student podiatrists during the summer to fit low quarters and boots for everyone. If you haven't worn them yet, try to take them up to the PX and exchange them on Rday or the day before. If you have, don't worry, you'll have plenty of time to actually try on the shoes and get a pair that truly fits. Your cadre shouldn't harass you while you're doing this because 1) they're not allowed inside the issue point and 2) they understand the importance of shoes that fit well.

How exactly are the boots supposed to fit? I have fairly narrow feet, but when I tried on the boots in my size but narrow, they were extremely tight even before I laced them up and tied them. Then when I tried on the same size, regular width, they seemed fine, but they're a little loose as I wear them around to break them in. The woman at the Fort where I bought them wasn't much help. They haven't given me any blisters even though I wear them all day. For some reason, I just keep worrying that I didn't get the right size, but I hope it's just nothing.

Addition to previous message-- All I did was walk into the store, tried telling the store employee what I needed, and she didn't really understand, so I showed her the letter WP sent me. Then she seemed to understand what I meant, and brought out a pair of Bellevilles that I tried on. I checked the box, it said Hot weather, tan boots, and it seemed right. But it doesn't say anywhere what style of boot it is. I can't even find my boot on the Belleville website. It looks similar to the 220 des, but it's not the same. It's just weird.

Yeah, I have had terrible luck with boots. They don't sell hot weather near me and have no sizes. The clerk seemed very disinterested in helping me. Even less knowledge...quite obviously not active duty but some civilian they hired...They also refused, and eventually agreed (they seemed to be just saying they would to get me to leave) order the boots I need. At this point all I have are some low quarters which I think may be Air Force, not Army...

I would suggest getting new insoles like gels when you get them. I did that for two reasons, the insole with them is a tad thin and my feet aren't tall. So now they are comfy and fit perfectly in height.

My boots are about 3/4 of an inch longer than my foot but the width is right, the previous pair I tried were to narrow but the length was good. Does anyone know if the boots will fit better with gel pads and the wool socks?

They did for me.
