my friend gave me a UNLV jacket and i was wondering if it would be wrong if i brought it to college (not UNLV). cause im pretty sure some people might feel awkward if i wore it?

only if you go to UNLV's rival school (i don't know what it is, if it has one). i'm definitely bringing other college shirts to my college. i bought a sweatshirt to a college because it was sooo soft! at the time i thought i might go. i'm definitely not, but that was thirty bucks and it's comfy as hell. :] it shouldn't matter.

people here wear clothes from other colleges all the time. just dont do it on days when you're playing that team (if applicable)

if the school you are attending has nothing to do with UNLV, then it's not an issue. If it's in like the same athletic conference or something, I might be a little more apprehensive.

People wear other colleges' clothes here all the time. Heck, I've seen sweatshirts from our biggest rivals being worn around campus. Just don't wear the sweatshirt to a sporting event

I go to a really small school in Pittsburgh, and it's not unusual to see people wearing the gear from the bigger schools (Pitt, Penn State). We don't have a football team, either, so most people seem to root for one of the two (I'm split--PSU for football since I like Joe Paterno, but definitely Pitt for basketball).

As far as "rival schools"--I have seen people wearing those t-shirts, especially in the gym. My guess is that they looked at the school, bought the shirt on their visit, and didn't want to see their money go to waste.

What people have said about rivals--probably true. At my high school this girl would always wear the opponent's sweatshirt on spirit day (her boyfriend went to the rival school) but she got lots of bad looks and comments the day homecoming was played against them...so unless you're willing to take some heat at a sporting event/pep rally/spirit day don't do it. Otherwise I'd guess it's fine.

i live in canada, but i have a couple of sweatshirts from US schools since my dad went to UCLA and bought me a sweater from there, and i randomly have a UMich sweatshirt too...anyways, since these schools aren't really "rivals" with the (canadian) school that i plan on going to, i see no problem with wearing them.

I have a pair of UCSC sweatpants that I'll wear wherever I go. They're so comfy and it's the school my brother is applying ED to, so I won't feel bad. I'll hopefully be out of CA anyway.

ahaha does anybody know UNLV's rival schools? dont wana be wearing it at the wrong time..

University of Nevada-Reno is UNLV's rival.

FOr example never wear a Duke Hoodie on UNC campus.....

or more importantly dont wear a UNC anything anywhere near Duke... UNC sickens me!

Boooooooo, DrumNDukie. UNC is muchhh better than Duke. Y'all are called Devils for a reason! :) We're soooo beating you guys next year. (I hope.)

seriously, people simply dont care in college. girls roll up to class in clothing i wouldnt wear downstairs to check the temperature outside. unless you're wearing a USC shirt on gameday here, then you're golden. And dont worry when you roll up to class after shacking for the night, people are only gonna give you credit for it..

just don't wear close rival clothes. others are fine.

Meh, I wouldn't wear anything Blue Devil OR Tar Heel, or Wolfpack for that matter. I guess I would be killed if I did.

Don't where a Navy shirt at West Point or an Army shirt at Annapolis; don't wear a Coast Guard shirt at Kings Point or a USMMA shirt at Coast Guard; and don't wear an Air Force shirt anywhere.

I agree that on many college campuses, it's find to wear whatever college-gear you have from any schools. At USoCal, I understand school spirit is such a big thing that about 3/4s or so sport USC logo-war much of the time, but at most college campuses, it isn't a big deal one way or another. It might be wise not to wear it on days when or to sport events when your school plays UNLV, but otherwise enjoy.

I've seen people wear UNC stuff around campus (Duke) and they weren't lynched. Might've gotten a couple of strange looks, but that was it.

Granted, this wasn't during basketball season.
