So recently i received a letter in the mail saying that my psychology teacher has accused me of academic dishonesty and as a result I am receiving an F in the course. This is wrong on so many levels this was supposed to be a lecture class taught in person but rather the only day that this so called instructor ever talked to us was the first day and she simply just read the syllabus. After that she permanently canceled one of our class meeting times and we were to only meet one day a week and it was never for the full class period. The only thing we would do in class time is pointless worksheets that were only extra credit do you did not have to show up to class. I was never taught one thing by this woman, ever! She never even tried to lecture. All of our tests were online and were timed and could be taken at home and she never really even said anything about them. Since I was never taught anything and some of the question were not directly from the text i would study online and read different websites to prepare for the test. I used some of the information on these websites on a few short answer problems that I was unsure of because it was obviously never covered. I did not do this with every single problem. I was simply trying to teach myself so that I could do okay on these exams. When I got home from school in the summer I received this letter and I was furious, how could the teacher blame this on me? She is not even a teacher not only because she never taught but she is only a graduate student. When I first got this I emailed her and she said I had warned you twice before in comments and then you used outside sources on the final exam. I looked through every thing and there is no documentation anywhere of her ever saying something. I refuse to get an F in this course when I should have received an A. I obviously need to appeal but can you please help me with what to say!! I tried to give as much background as I could. This was already a terrible year for me, I was brutally attacked on campus and now she is trying to ruin my academics when she should be the one to blame. if they do not fix this then I will have to leave this school and quite possibly file some complaint against the university. my attack was more than enough brutality for a lifetime, not simply a year. Thank you all so much in advance:)

Are you absolutely 100% sure that she did not give you warnings in the comments? Look through the comments thoroughly and if they are not there, then you can make your case. If the warnings are there, then you just have to accept the F and move on.

It seems to me that if you used information copied from websites without citing it that would be plagarism. I have taken tests on line and if the verbage you used was very much like the site it came from she could have easily interpreted that as you googling the answer and cutting and pasting it into your test.
