W's on transcript vs Pass/Fail? How many credits are bad to transfer

Current freshman science major at georgia tech, but would like to transfer to more LAC-based school like Vanderbilt, Columbia, or Amherst to not major in science. Currently taking 14 hours.

My three options are: I could drop math (linear algebra 2 hour class–I have a C in it) and just take 12 hours (I would end up with a 3.67). (There IS a small chance I could get a 4.0 if all I kill myself studying this semester).
Other option: I could keep math, take biology pass/fail, and end up with a 3.6 gpa, keeping the 14 credits. (unless something miraculous happens for math, where i’d end up with an overall 3.8).
Or I could just not do anything and hope for the best!

EC’s: model UN, elections committee, marketing organization, multicultural club

What do you guys think? What option should I go with? I plan on taking at least 15 hours next semester, but GT is very rigorous (you only need a 3.5 to make highest honors!) I don’t know whether a W, a pass/fail , or only 12 credits looks worse.

Thanks y’all!

At this point in the semester if you drop a class, the assumption will be that you had an F in it. So drop your ECs instead, get to the tutoring center and/or your professor’s office hours for help with your classes, and concentrate on your academics. Pull that C up to a B if you can. If you absolutely can’t get it to a B, then be happy with the C. Don’t change Biology to pass/fail because you will want a grade in that. Sometimes pass/fail classes don’t transfer. Linear Algebra is not a freshman level course. It is OK if you don’t get a perfect grade in it.
